Whilst we’re making the most of life, we’re also unknowingly doing damage to and wearing out our skin. There are some ways in which we can avoid ageing our skin, but for the most part the effects of ageing are natural and inevitable. It is the work of mother nature, and is a sign of all the things we have been through in our lives.

To help reduce the effects of ageing, we can avoid certain things. Sunlight contributes to ageing, but we can protect ourselves by staying out of the sun when it is at its strongest and always using sun lotion and protective clothing. Tanning beds might make your skin look good for a while, but they do a lot of damage in the long run. Cigarettes also contribute, and the more cigarettes a person smokes and the longer they smoke for, the more wrinkles they will see.

The sad truth is that even a person who has never smoked and lived their entire life in the dark will experience skin ageing problems at some point. There’s no way of avoiding it completely (unless you’re willing to make some drastic changes to your body), but there are ways of reducing it and slowing it down. Many people are cynical of anti-ageing products, but the truth is there’s science behind them which actually works.

Fighting skin ageing problems is something many people are eager to do, meaning cosmetics companies can make a lot of money out of it. Before you purchase a product, you should look at the ingredients, because some products contain chemicals and additives which may do harm to your skin. Companies such as Rene Guinot use only natural and organic ingredients in their products so you can be sure that they will help your skin, rather than damaging it.
